Who is responsible

The entity named in the legal notice above is responsible for processing personal data on this website. For questions about data protection, write to the email address given there.

Applicable law

We comply with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP), in force since 1 September 2023. Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to visitors from the European Economic Area, we comply with its requirements as well.

What happens when you visit this site

This is a static website. There is no database, no user accounts and no contact form; pages are delivered as finished files.

For technical reasons the web server records an entry in its log for every request: the IP address of the requesting device, the date and time, the address requested, the HTTP status code, the amount of data transferred, the browser and operating system identifier (user agent) and the referring page.

We need these logs to run the site securely, to find faults and to fend off attacks. We do not analyse them to trace the behaviour of individuals, we build no profiles from them and we do not combine them with other data. We rely on our overriding interest in the secure operation of the website (Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP; where the GDPR applies, Art. 6(1)(f)).

Logs are deleted automatically after 30 days at the latest.

No cookies, no tracking

We set no cookies and store nothing in your browser, neither in local nor in session storage. We use no analytics, statistics or advertising services. That is why there is no cookie banner here: there is nothing for you to consent to.

Fonts, images and styles are served from the same server as the page itself. Viewing the site creates no connections to third parties: no Google Fonts, no embedded maps, videos or social media buttons, and no tracking pixels.

The site uses a single small script that opens the image gallery. It runs entirely in your browser and transmits nothing to us or to anyone else. Without JavaScript the image simply opens directly.

If you write to us

If you contact us by email, we process your name, your email address and the content of your message in order to answer your enquiry. The basis for this is the pre-contractual or contractual relationship, or our interest in responding to enquiries.

We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to handle the matter, to answer follow-up questions and to meet statutory retention obligations, and delete it afterwards.

Please note that ordinary email is not encrypted end to end in transit. Please do not send us particularly sensitive information by unencrypted email.

Service providers working for us

We do not sell personal data and do not pass it on for advertising purposes. Only service providers who process data on our behalf, and who are contractually bound by our instructions, have access:

• Website hosting: Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva. The server logs described above arise there.
• Email: Infomaniak Network SA as well. Our business correspondence runs through their servers.

According to its own statements, Infomaniak runs its infrastructure exclusively in Switzerland, in the cantons of Geneva and Zurich. Your data is therefore not transferred abroad, unless you yourself correspond with recipients abroad.

We disclose data to authorities only where we are legally obliged to do so.

Data security

The website is transmitted exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against loss and unauthorised access. Complete security in transmission over the internet cannot, however, be guaranteed by anyone.

Your rights

Within the limits of applicable law, you have the right at any time to

• ask whether and which data we process about you,
• have inaccurate data corrected,
• request the deletion of your data,
• have processing restricted or object to it,
• request your data in a common format or have it transferred to another party,
• withdraw consent you have given, at any time.

A short message to the address in the legal notice is enough. So that we do not hand out someone elses data, we may ask you to prove your identity first. This is free of charge for you.

Right to complain

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern. Where the processing falls under the GDPR, you may also turn to the data protection authority where you live.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here is the one that applies.
